Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Design and develop innovative plastic moulds for chocolate products, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and aesthetic appeal.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and production teams to translate product requirements into detailed mould designs.
Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings for mould components and assemblies.
Select appropriate materials and design features to optimize mould performance, durability, and ease of use.
Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to validate design concepts and identify potential issues early in the process.
Oversee prototype development, testing, and refinement to ensure final moulds meet quality and performance standards.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to support tooling, fabrication, and troubleshooting during production runs.
Maintain accurate documentation of design iterations, specifications, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in mould design.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum of 5 years of experience in plastic mould design, preferably within the food or packaging industry.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.
Strong understanding of plastic injection moulding processes and tooling requirements.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in both design and documentation.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Experience with prototype development, testing, and iterative design improvements.
Knowledge of material properties relevant to chocolate moulds and food-grade plastics.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
