Priorities and implements schedules relating to planned and predictive maintenance and repair activities for an allocated area. Establishes effective co-ordination with internal clients to ensure harmonization of activities.

• Allocates requisite resources and monitors work progress in allocated area to determine effectiveness of deployment. Adopts a cost-conscious approach to utilization of approved resources. Includes manpower, spare parts, consumables, tools and equipment.
• Ensures all approved procedures and manuals are current, readily available, understood and complied with by all technicians and assistants.
• Acts as a source of technical expertise, employing high-level analytical and investigative techniques, in order to troubleshoot major and complex problems.
• Monitors inventory levels to ensure availability of spare parts and consumables for planned activities. Assesses the performance and quality of spare parts and consumables and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Conducts a range of technically based studies to assess performance against efficiency, down-time and safety parameters and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Ensures the implementation and adherence to approved health, safety, environmental and quality procedures and systems that protect Company staff and assets and meet their community responsibilities.
• Conduct technical studies to improve operational processes and ensure the reduction of unplanned downtimes, enhancing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE and PR).
• Collect and analyze performance data to make informed decisions regarding equipment optimization and operational improvements.
