Roles & Responsibilities

Position: Engineering Specialist (Maritime – Auxiliary & Marine Equipment)

Department: Projects / Operations
Reports To: Maritime Project Lead / Maritime Head of Operations


Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist (Maritime – Auxiliary & Marine Equipment) to support naval Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities.

The role is responsible for the reliability, maintenance, and lifecycle support of auxiliary systems and marine equipment onboard naval vessels, ensuring operational readiness, safety, and compliance.

The position initially supports project mobilisation and transitions into operational delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support development of technical scopes, work packages, and material kits

  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, compressors, HVAC, hydraulics, fuel and lubrication systems

  • Maintain firefighting systems, cranes, davits, winches, and deck machinery

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults

  • Ensure compliance with naval standards, class rules, and OEM guidance

  • Maintain configuration control, maintenance logs, and technical documentation

  • Support dockings, overhauls, harbour trials, and sea trials

  • Identify reliability improvements and support condition-based maintenance

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience (Mandatory)

  • Minimum 5+ years in Naval / Maritime MRO or Marine Engineering roles

  • Strong hands-on experience with auxiliary systems and marine machinery

  • Proven experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  • Ability to read P&IDs, technical drawings, and OEM manuals

  • Experience working in defence, naval, or military maritime environments

  • Experience supporting dockings, overhauls, and defect rectification

Maritime MRO experience is mandatory.

Education (Mandatory)

  • Bachelor’s or Postgraduate Degree in Marine Engineering or related Engineering field


Preferred Certifications / Knowledge

  • Marine Engineering certification (e.g., STCW III/1 or III/2 or equivalent)

  • Engineering / Quality Management Systems knowledge

  • Project Management exposure

  • OEM technical training

  • Middle East experience preferred
