Responsibilities:

The fellow will work closely with faculty, researchers, and graduate students, contribute to grant proposals, publish findings in top-tier venues, and present results at international conferences. This position offers access to state-of-the-art research facilities, high-performance computing resources, and a vibrant research environment, providing a unique opportunity to advance both fundamental and applied research at the intersection of cryptography and AI security while mentoring junior researchers and contributing to the university s broader research mission.

Desired Candidate Profile

We are seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at Khalifa University of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, with expertise in cryptography, machine learning security, and adversarial attack and defense strategies. The role requires strong theoretical foundations in modern cryptographic protocols, privacy-preserving machine learning, and secure multi-party computation, as well as practical experience implementing these techniques to address real-world security challenges. The ideal candidate will have a proven research track record with publications in high-impact journals or conferences, and a demonstrated ability to conduct independent research while contributing to collaborative, interdisciplinary teams. Experience in analyzing security risks from emerging AI-driven threats and in developing robust, cryptography-based defenses is highly desirable.

PhD Degree in Computer Science & Engineering or a related field

Technical hands-on experience and knowledge in the field of interest, deep RL, multiagent systems, and preferably a background in robust optimization

Research active: Publications in top venues in the field (top 10% Journals, and top conferences such AAAI, AAMAS, ICRA, IROS, IJCAI, ICML, to name a few)

Solid inclination to deploy, test, and demo the results in a timely manner

Desirable: background in Robotics

PhD gained from a top 200 QS or THE ranked University

At least 2 years of relevant experience as a post-doctoral researcher in academia or in industry.

High impact first-author publications in top 10% journals in the relevant field
