POWDER COATING OPERATOR/PAINTER

Job Description:

• Prepare parts for coating.
• Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application.
• Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers and booth collection systems.
• Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects.
• Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers.
• Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations.
• Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pretreatments.
• Knowledge of painting systems such as epoxy, polyurethane, etc.
• Painting using air and airless spray guns, rollers and brush.
• Read and understand powder and painting material data sheets and understand the mixing ratios of thinners and hardners, application parameters, product storage conditions to be carried out.
• Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance.
• Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout facility.
• Load and unload parts or products onto fixtures.
• Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment.
• Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
• Show an attitude and keenness towards learning something new always.
• Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic.

Key Skills required;

• Know the basics and behavior of different types of powder such as polyester, epoxy, hybrid and painting systems such as epoxy, polyurethane, etc.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Perform regular light duty corrective and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• To be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Qualifications:

• High School
• Technical Training Certificate
• Strong background in powder coating and industrial painting

Age: 25 to 35 Max.
