Roles & Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Team Leadership & Site Supervision

  • Lead on-site activities and provide hands-on supervision to ensure the effective coordination and performance of team members.
  • Support team development by integrating and training new staff and interns, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Address and help prevent potential conflicts within the team through proactive communication and leadership.

Fault Diagnosis & Technical Oversight

  • Prepare technical reports, record equipment failures, and analyze incident history to support informed decision-making.
  • Accurately diagnose faults and execute appropriate troubleshooting, validation, testing, and verification procedures to ensure problem resolution.

Equipment & Resource Management

  • Oversee the availability and proper use of tools, spare parts, and materials, ensuring they are effectively managed to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Organize workspace logistics and ensure timely task completion in alignment with project timelines and priorities.

Quality Control & Reporting

  • Monitor the quality of all work performed, ensuring strict adherence to Quality Assurance protocols.
  • Collect, document, and transmit technical data to maintain traceability of maintenance and operational activities.

Operational Safety & Handover

  • Ensure the complete clearance of the site after maintenance activities, confirming that operations can safely resume without disruption.
  • Complete all required checklists and promptly communicate any issues or anomalies to the Power Supply Engineer.
  • Manage the PCP and ensure all the operation is done according to the SOP.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

Advanced technical studies or certifications are an asset.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.
  • Proven ability to lead on-site teams and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques and fault analysis.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting single-line diagrams and technical schematics.
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety procedures (formal electrical habilitation is an advantage).
  • Experienced in using electrical measuring and testing equipment.
  • Familiar with general maintenance practices and principles.
  • Good understanding of electrical protection systems, including voltage relays, current transformers (CTs), and voltage transformers (VTs).
  • Hands-on experience with medium and low voltage installations.
  • Technical proficiency in working with transformers, circuit breakers, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), batteries, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), control panels, cables, and DC systems (including circuit breakers, rectifiers, and protective devices).
  • Competent in computer use and standard software applications (Microsoft Office suite).

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in electrical maintenance, including a minimum of 3 years in substation operations and maintenance.
  • Previous experience in the railway sector is a strong plus.
