Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements and timelines, ensuring clear communication from inception to delivery.
- Prepare and optimize digital files for printing, focusing on color accuracy, resolution, and proper file formats to meet industry standards.
- Conduct preflight checks on files to identify potential issues like missing fonts or linked images, ensuring a flawless print-ready product.
- Create and maintain detailed specifications for print projects, including paper types, inks, and finishes, to guide production accurately.
- Utilize advanced design software such as Adobe Creative Suite to manipulate graphics and layouts, ensuring visual appeal and technical precision.
- Stay updated with the latest printing technologies and techniques to provide innovative solutions and improve overall design quality.
- Work closely with press operators to ensure that design specifications are met during the printing process, providing support and adjustments as needed.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines without compromising on quality or client satisfaction.
- Document production processes and maintain organized records of files, revisions, and feedback to streamline future projects.
- Provide training and support to junior designers in prepress techniques and software usage, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant prepress experience in a fast-paced print environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of printing processes.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and familiarity with RIP software, essential for effective design and prepress work.
- Knowledge of color theory, typography, and print production techniques, ensuring high-quality outcomes in all projects.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving skills, crucial for identifying and rectifying prepress issues quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate effective collaboration with clients and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- A portfolio showcasing a variety of print projects, highlighting creativity, technical skills, and a keen eye for design.
- Familiarity with digital printing technologies and trends, enhancing your ability to innovate and adapt to the evolving industry.
