Primary Purpose of the Job
To serve as the subject matter expert for the planning, design, and execution of complex, high-risk, and non-standard wells (e.g., exploration, HPHT, deep gas). This role is responsible for driving performance optimization across assets, providing expert troubleshooting, and ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence and HSE performance. The Principal Drilling Engineer acts as a key mentor, is a cornerstone of the technical decision-making process and driving innovation and digitalization at an organizational level, and developing the long-term technical capability of the workforce
Required Experience and Skills
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive and diverse drilling and workover engineering experience, with at least 5 years demonstrably focused on the design and engineering support of complex and high-risk wells. Technical Knowledge: Recognized as an industry expert in one or more domains (e.g., well control, drilling optimization, HPHT, completions). Expert-level proficiency in a full suite of advanced well engineering software.Certification: IWCF Well Control Certification (Supervisor Level) is mandatory. Additional certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional - PMP) are advantageous.
Educational Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Petroleum Engineering preferred).
