Roles & Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Educational Leadership, Learning and Achievement:
Provide leadership in all matters relating to education in the Secondary School.
Ensure that the Secondary School academic program is in agreement with the
mission and philosophy as defined by the school Board.
Ensure that the Secondary School maintains or exceeds all of the standards of
education as defined by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Target market is the total amount of all market availability
that is usually calculated when we start the company.

Duties:
Ensure that clear and consistent expectations that focus on successful outcomes for
students are in place and observed.
Ensure that students have opportunities to meet the school graduate outcome
expectations.
Demonstrate care for and commitment to students and student achievement.
Ensure that there is a systematic analysis regarding student performance and
academic growth in alignment with school philosophy, mission, and standards.
Ensure curriculum development at each course level and the establishment of course
outcomes.
Ensure that excellent implementation and evaluation of educational programs and
services are in place and observed.
Demonstrate a commitment to innovation and continual enhancement of
educational programs.
Submit a list of instructional materials for ordering to the Director of Finance, based
on instructional staff recommendations and Secondary School needs, and consistent
with school curriculum standards and objectives.
Take the necessary steps to provide an environment that fosters and maintains
respectful and responsible behavior from students.
Actively promote cross-cultural sensitivity, respect and awareness.
Ensure customary and expected extracurricular and co-curricular opportunities are
available to students.
Academic Leadership:
Develop and oversee a Secondary School instructional team that collectively, effectively
and efficiently ensures that the Secondary School is well managed, while making student
learning a priority. Duties include:

External & Parent Relations:
Represent the Secondary School in dealings with parents, other schools,
professional organizations and the general public. Duties include:
Attend and participate in parent nights and other school meetings involving parents,
especially in relation to the Secondary School.
Ensure that parents have the opportunity to provide appropriate advice and support in
accordance with policy.
Ensure that Secondary School students’ parents are informed of the performance and state
of their children. Call for and attend parent meetings as the need arises.
Communicate with Secondary School students’ parents at the prescribed times in
accordance with the discipline policy.
Facilitate good public relations by representing school favorably to the community and to the
general public.

*Other duties as assigned.
A Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership is required, a PhD or EdD is
preferred.
Principal Certification is required.
A proven track record in educational leadership, including at least a minimum of
3 years of experience in a senior position at a quality American or international
school.
Education and Experience:
Experience with and/or knowledge of the following practices, programs or pedagogical
approaches is preferred: common core standards; concept and inquiry-based instruction;
standards-based assessment; technology integration; PowerSchool;
Exceptional leadership, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
The flexibility to learn and adapt to new cultures and situations.
The ability to lead and work collaboratively with a large and talented team of teachers,
administrators, and other school personnel.
A strong, outgoing and approachable personal presence.
Proven commitment to a well-balanced program that focuses on the whole child.
The ability to recruit and retain highly qualified teachers.
A positive, caring, community-minded team player with a passion for Secondary School
education.
Understanding of financial management, staffing, scheduling and the student management
system.
Manage the school budget to achieve strategic outcomes.
Support Primary School events that impact Secondary School (assemblies, showcases,
community information sessions, coffee presentations, graduation, etc.).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate
effectively with students, staff, and families.
Fluency in English in addition to French or Arabic is preferred.
Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technology tools.
Previous international teaching or working experience in a multicultural environment is a plus
