Wood has an opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our team in Qatar on a long-term basis. This is a key role within the Wood Doha office and will report to the Lead Piping Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assurance of Process designs through appropriate application of Shell technical standards and specifications, implementation of DCAF and review of design deliverables and activities.
- Ensure schedule and cost considerations are included in design decisions, while maintaining primary responsibility to assure safe and appropriate quality designs.
- Ensure Process Engineering activities are executed in alignment with Shell s Project Delivery Roadmap and Opportunity Realization Process.
- Develop strategies/conceptual designs during early project phases.
- Support COMPANY in auditing construction field activities for compliance and assist in resolution of field non conformance issues as required.
- Ensure design meets requirements of Shell s HSSE Framework.
- Design and develop, as required, innovative technical approaches to the broader process engineering issues and contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives (fit for purpose)
- Provide (one stop shop) process engineering support and delivery for QPH projects.
- Accountability for process engineering deliverables and engineering execution planning support including provision of senior engineering expertise.
- Proactively working with the Engineering Manager to keProjects on track and achieve Top Quartile (TQ) performance for the portfolio.
- Drive and delivery of an ever increasing effectiveness and efficiency in producing project designs, through
- Elimination, Simplification, Standardisation and Automation balanced against the need for Top Quartile FEL in, and quality designs for the Qatar Project Delivery Hub projects.
- Support Management of Repeated Failures
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum 5 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas related process Design and Engineeringbr>Performs as a professional process engineer for projects and plant modifications from Front Endbr>Development through execution / commissioning and start upbr>Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas Project Delivery as a Umbrella Contract Senior process engineer function in a multidiscipline Workforce br>Fully conversant with process simulation toolsbr>Experience in the Middle East, knowledge of GTL, Gas Processing and Utilities are an advantage, as is frontend and commissioning experience and execution.br>Proven leadership skills and strong personal drive in order to meet deadlines and specific targets.br>Experience of working on Shell projects will be a distinct added advantagebr>Good communication skills and report writing skills, experience of writing technical reports is essentialbr>Team player with clear evidence of working with others to deliver on goals.br>Strong, and demonstrated, personal commitment to HSSE Leadership and experience in managing HSSE throughout all project phasesbr>Experience in providing support to engineering disciplinesbr>Experience with project managementbr>Proven leadership skills and strong personal drive in order to meet deadlines and specific targets.br>Team player with clear evidence of working with others to deliver on goals.br>Strong, and demonstrated, personal commitment to HSSE Leadership and experience in managing HSSE throughout all project phasesbr>Ability to work and manage in a multi cultural environmentbr>Experience with interfacing with other disciplines, i.e. electrical, rotating mechanical, civil, static mechanical and technical safety
