This is an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our Iraq Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded an Onshore Project to support an International Client operation by providing Brownfield Engineering & Design Services. The Vision of this Contract is to enhance the production & assets integrity across various locations. Team of Engineers and Designers based in Basra and Dubai supports execution of these projects. Projects under this contract focuses on Flare system revamps/re-ignition, Rehab of aging assets, BTEX emission control, Flare Gas Recovery & Replacement/upgrade of obsolete equipment, piping & systems.

Job Objectives:

  • Participate in the Management of Change process by perfoming dedicated studies or following up the same as per the Production Support Leader instructions.
  • Ensure the respect of the technical rules on Process discipline (correct usage of TOTAL s General Specifications and international norms) in the frame of modifications requests (RFM) and projects coming from the Assets.
  • Conduct high level technical studies for technical decision-taking purposes and guarantee the quality
  • Contribute in the research of technical solutions (analysis of the dossier, research of information through technical documents etc) and troubleshooting of the technical issues encountered on site and propose adequate solutions and implementation of the mitigations.
  • Update Process Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material Balances, and Process Data Sheets & Specification for Process Units
  • Update Piping & Instrumentation Diagram and Safety Logic Diagram following Site Modifications or site survey.
  • Perform detailed hydraulic calculations & heat transfer calculations for process units.
  • Follow-up of all actions related to Project Technical Reviews (PTR), HAZID, HAZOP, safety reviews, etc
  • reviews, definition of specifications & clarifications with vendors when required, P&ID updates, coordination & modification implementation
  • Provide guidance to operations consistent with safe work procedures, environmental and mechanical integrity requirements.
  • Participate in updating production reference documents
  • Provide technical content / review for operating procedures
  • Support other RFM Leader (analysis and classification of Request for Modification, organization of modification validation process, etc)
  • Participate in the technical analyze of Process Engineering studies issued by Contractors (Engineering & Construction) & Vendors. Promote innovative methods and technologies
  • Conduct transient flow assurance studies using the Olga Software mainly on flowline
  • Conduct process studies using Pro II Process Simulation Software
  • Assist with the procurement process of equipment specifications, bid evaluation and contract administration

General:

  • Ensures that all activities are conducted in respect of HSE Company standards and in accordance with the Iraqi regulations
  • Promotes Company s HSE and quality rules, regulations and related programs
  • Implement to meet the Company s HSE objectives; Promote safety and environment awareness.
  • Propose best practice and improved ways of work
  • Conducts technical and operational analyses, audits and inspections
  • Audits external entities, work studies and contractors
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with other entities such as, well performance, planning, maintenance and inspection, etc

Expected:

  • Bachelor s degree in Chemical or Processing Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • 5 to 10 years experience in Process Engineering.
  • Field experience is an advantage
  • In-depth understanding of production methods, excellent reporting, and organization skills with experience in the use of Pro II or Aspen HYSYS (Process Simulation Software) & OLGA (Dynamic Multiphase Flow Simulator).
  • Good knowledge of English language (speaking and writing).
