Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Support plant CAPEX projects through leading, participating, and facilitating document review and approval, technical reviews (equipment bids, 3D model, technical queries, RFIs), package equipment HAZOPs, procurement works, third-party permits, field inspections, mechanical completion walkdowns, PSSRs and environmental compliance testing.

2. Lead, facilitate, manage, and track plant process changes through Management of Change ensuring practical recommendations are reflected to achieve the production, reliability, or optimization objectives.

3. Lead and coordinate all necessary safety studies/risk assessments related to process changes.

4. Perform manufacturing review and commercialization on new raw materials and products ensuring compatibility with plant manufacturing capability.

5. Lead implementation of necessary plant modifications to accommodate new raw material and product requests.

6. Develop new product SOPs and ensure stakeholders' feedback are incorporated.

7. Support daily plant operations activities ensuring plant production schedules and quality standards are met.

8. Identify and recommend engineering solutions to plant HSE problems.

9. Provide support in troubleshooting plant upsets ensuring plant runs as designed and that production interruption is minimized.

10. Develop operating procedures & guidelines for any non-routine plans and deviation from established procedure to meet a particular need or situation.

11. Support operations on technical specifications and procurement of material and small equipment needs.

12. Lead and/or participate in process and safety related incident investigation.

Work Experience

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing as a Process Engineer. Experience in batch operations is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Smart Plant P&ID, AVEVA Diagrams, or similar P&ID design software.
  • Experience with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, PRO-II, UniSim, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, valves, instrumentation, and safety systems.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, ANSI, IEC, NFPA, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Good to have skills:

  • Experience in offshore and onshore oil & gas facilities.
  • Knowledge of process safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with P&ID revision control and management systems.
  • Exposure to LNG, refining, petrochemical, or pipeline projects.
