Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Design & Process Development
- Develop mass and energy balances, PFDs, and P&IDs for seawater RO desalination systems.
- Design and size RO trains, pumps, pretreatment units (coagulation, media filtration, UF), and post-treatment (remineralization, CO dosing).
- Prepare detailed specifications for equipment: pressure vessels, membranes, dosing systems, and chemical treatment units.
- Analyze and optimize membrane performance using software
- Perform hydraulic calculations for multiport vessels and high-pressure piping networks.
Technical Analysis & Modeling
- Conduct system simulations to predict performance under varying feedwater conditions.
- Perform recovery, energy consumption, and membrane fouling rate analysis.
- Evaluate energy recovery devices (ERDs) and design pressure exchanger systems.
- Review and analyze laboratory data, pilot trials, and membrane autopsy reports.
Project Execution & Documentation
- Lead or review engineering deliverables: design reports, datasheets, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary interfaces with civil, electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical teams.
- Participate in HAZOP, design reviews (3D model reviews, RAM studies), and risk assessments.
Commissioning & Troubleshooting
- Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning.
- Diagnose and resolve process bottlenecks, membrane fouling, scaling, or plant underperformance.
- Train operations teams on membrane cleaning procedures (CIP), energy optimization, and water quality control.
