• Hands-on experience with distillation units/Refinery units (crude, vacuum, or

fractionation columns)

• Operate and monitor distillation columns, reboilers, condensers, pumps, and

associated systems via DCS (Distributed Control system)

• Maintain process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, and levels

within specified limits

• Adjust control loops to optimize separation efficiency and product quality.

• Should have thorough Understanding of DCS architecture, safety interlock, logic

block

• Execute plant start-up and shutdown procedures as per SOPs

• In case of deviation/upset of process parameters, should have knack of

responding quickly to alarms, process deviations, and emergencies.

• Take corrective actions to stabilize operations and avoid plant trips

• Lead unit operation/troubleshooting, investigating off spec product generation

• Understanding of cause-and-effect diagram

• Should have knowledge of studying P&ID (process and instrumentation diagram)

• Should have knowledge of preparing SOPs for any process startup/line-up

• Coordinate with field operators for equipment operation, line-ups, and

troubleshooting.

• Communicate with supervisors and maintenance teams regarding process

issues

• Should have knowledge of decontaminating plant for safe handover of the

equipment/machineries for maintenance

• Ensure smooth shift handover with accurate reporting

• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies
