Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Procurement Assistant coordinates immediate purchasing and sourcing needs to support daily
equipment rental operations. This role focuses entirely on fast-paced transactional procurement,
short-term sub-rentals, and parts sourcing to maximize fleet availability. You will handle ordering
consumables, securing third-party backup equipment, and expediting repair parts, without managing
long-term capital asset lifecycles or depreciation.
Key Responsibilities
Source Sub-Rentals: Secure backup equipment from third-party vendors to fulfill urgent
customer order shortages.
Expedite Parts: Order and track replacement parts for rental machinery to minimize fleet
downtime.
Process POs: Generate and submit transactional purchase orders for maintenance supplies
and workshop tools.
Reconcile Invoices: Match vendor invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes to
resolve pricing errors.
Coordinate Logistics: Arrange prompt transportation for incoming sub-rented gear and
emergency part deliveries.
Update Rental Software: Log active purchase orders, rental rates, and delivery statuses into
the operations system.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Skills
Education: High school diploma required; Associate degree in business or logistics preferred.
Experience: 1–2 years of purchasing experience, ideally within a rental yard, dealership, or
high-volume service centre or any.
Operational Focus: Strong grasp of transactional, short-term rental workflows over long
term asset tracking.
Speed & Urgency: Ability to source items quickly under tight customer deadlines and shifting
counter priorities.
Technical Aptitude: Basic familiarity with equipment types, mechanical parts, or general
industrial terminology.
Software: Proficiency with standard office tools (MS Excel) and exposure to rental
management or ERP systems.
