Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies specifically for mechanical components to optimize supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and innovative products that align with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals with a critical eye, ensuring they meet technical specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms while maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure mechanical specifications are accurately translated into procurement requirements.
  • Manage inventory levels and make recommendations for stock replenishment based on project timelines and supplier lead times.
  • Assist in the development of procurement policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and accountability.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings achieved.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential for understanding technical specifications.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in procurement within EPC sector is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are highly valued.
  • Prior experience in EPC is a must.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems is essential for efficient supply chain management.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; additional language skills are a plus for dealing with international suppliers.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess supplier proposals and make data-driven decisions are crucial.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure the best terms while fostering long-term supplier relationships are required.
  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts amicably are essential.
  • A proactive mindset with problem-solving abilities to address procurement challenges and implement innovative solutions is desired.
