Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for all raw materials required across the business.
- Identify, qualify, and manage global suppliers to ensure a robust, competitive, and reliable supply base.
- Monitor global demand/supply trends, pricing movements, availability issues, and market developments to inform procurement decisions.
- Lead cost reduction, value engineering, and localization initiatives to improve margins and business profitability.
Supplier Management & Relationship Development
- Effectively manage all supplier interactions, including negotiation of pricing, contracts, payment terms, delivery timelines, and long-term agreements.
- Conduct supplier on-site visits for Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly business reviews to strengthen supplier performance and uncover opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly, ensuring compliance with quality, delivery, and service standards.
- Identify new global sources and develop strategic partnerships that align with the company s growth plans.
Technical & Product-Related Procurement
- Demonstrate deep domain knowledge in sourcing Lubricants, Paints & Coatings, and Chemicals, leveraging global connections with established chemical manufacturing companies.
- Support product development teams by advising on material availability, new suppliers, and cost implications.
- Review technical data sheets, specifications, and product requirements to ensure proper material selection.
Operational Excellence & Process Management
- Optimize procurement workflows and implement standardized processes to strengthen the overall supply chain.
- Ensure efficient utilization of ERP systems, improving reporting accuracy, traceability, and procurement analytics.
- Develop detailed procurement budgets, volume forecasts, and long-term sourcing plans.
- Ensure full compliance with international procurement regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with finance, logistics, supply chain, and production teams to ensure alignment on inventory levels, delivery planning, material requirements, and cost objectives.
- Support logistics by resolving supplier-related shipment issues and facilitating smooth inbound movement of materials.
- Lead procurement KPIs, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement department.
Desired Candidate Profile
Job Requirements:
Bachelor s Degree in Chemical Engineering; MBA in Supply Chain or Materials Management preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement or sourcing of chemical raw materials at a managerial level.
Proven track record managing international suppliers, negotiating multimillion-dollar contracts, and handling global imports.
Strong connections within the global chemical, lubricants, and additives supplier ecosystem.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
Candidate should have prior work experience in: Petrochemicals, Paints, Coatings, Epoxy, Chemicals, Lubricants, and Additives.
Established network with global chemical manufacturers and distributors.
Ability to read and interpret Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Skilled in negotiating pricing, payment terms, long-term agreements, and delivery schedules.
Experience drafting, reviewing, and formalizing supplier contracts and SLAs.
