Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Receive approved material requisitions from departments/projects. • For projects, specify if the requested material is major engineered Item, Minor Engineered item or Bulk Material. • For all minor engineered items or bulk items or any other material requested, check if the Material requested are available in the Main Store, if not contact suppliers for quotations. • For Major Engineered Items, ensure the pertinent material submittal is approved without any comment. If there is any comment, it is to be signed by the Project Manager. • If the required material from sole source that has been approved by the management, attach LOI to the MR and issue LPO directly. • Send RFQ to suppliers listed in the Company’s approved Vendor List. • Ensure that all suppliers are provided with identical information upon which the quotations are given equal opportunities to meet the desired requirements. • Ensure all received quotations are compliant with the Project/Department requirements and any applicable international or local standards and quality standards. • Prepare schedule of comparison between different quotations. • Negotiate the best price, payment terms and contract conditions. • Establish delivery terms, time, and stages of inspection • Issue purchase orders. • Make sure to receive order acknowledgement from Suppliers. • Tracks orders and confirms system lead times, delivery dates, and costs. • Follow up with Suppliers and ensure delivery of material to sites. • Ensures orders adhere to supplier agreements and contracts; reports non-conformances. • Coordinate with the logistics coordinator for clearance with any authority. • Always maintain the Approved Suppliers List updated . • Assist with the evaluation of Suppliers at the end of each year. • Create, update, and maintain a log for all the Purchase Orders with the updated status of each.

Desired Candidate Profile

Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems Knowledgeable in the present market standards Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts Technically knowledgeable when it comes to material specifications Minimum 4 years’ experience in same role in MEP company in Qatar
