Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Procurement Officer is an integral part of our organization, tasked with managing and overseeing all aspects related to purchasing and acquisitions. This role involves a mix of strategy, analysis, and negotiation to ensure optimal procurement practices are adhered to. The Procurement Officer s efforts directly affect the efficiency and profitability of our operations by safeguarding cost-effectiveness and quality in the supply chain. This position demands exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail as you will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of vendors and suppliers. You will also play a key role in the development and implementation of procurement policies to streamline processes and enhance sustainability in procurement practices. We are looking for a proactive and disciplined individual who can thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring the procurement activities support our organization s goals and comply with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure quality procurement.
- Identify potential suppliers and conduct evaluations to assess their suitability.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to maximize cost-efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply without overstocking.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and pricing.
- Review and analyze purchase requests for accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with applicable regulations and standards.
- Prepare purchase orders and agreements in coordination with the finance department.
- Supervise procurement staff, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.
- Regularly report on procurement activities, costs, and potential areas of improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record in contract negotiations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software tools.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written for effective collaboration.
- Knowledge of supplier or third-party management software is desirable.
