Production Engineer – HVAC Ducting Soundlines Global FZCO

Job Summary

The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the manufacturing of HVAC ducting systems to ensure production targets are met with optimal quality, cost efficiency, and safety. The role involves process optimization, manpower coordination, material control, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Planning

Plan and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for HVAC duct fabrication (GI ducts, fire-rated ducts, insulation, accessories).

Coordinate with planning, design, and project teams to meet project deadlines.

Ensure production output aligns with drawings, specifications, and approved material submittals.

Process & Quality Control

Supervise fabrication processes including cutting, bending, sealing, flanging, and assembly.

Ensure compliance with HVAC standards (SMACNA, DW/144, ASHRAE, project specs).

Conduct quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy, air leakage compliance, and workmanship standards.

Implement corrective actions for non-conformities.

Material & Inventory Management

Monitor raw material usage (GI sheets, sealants, gaskets, insulation).

Minimize wastage and optimize material utilization.

Coordinate with procurement and stores for timely material availability.

Manpower & Safety

Supervise technicians, machine operators, and helpers.

Allocate manpower efficiently to achieve production targets.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.

Train production staff on best practices and safety procedures.

Equipment & Maintenance

Monitor performance of duct fabrication machines (TDF/TDC machines, plasma cutting, lock-forming machines).

Coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

Recommend improvements or upgrades to machinery and tooling.

Cost & Continuous Improvement

Analyze production costs and implement cost-reduction initiatives.

Improve workflow efficiency and reduce cycle times.

Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare daily production reports and KPI tracking.

Maintain production records, NCRs, and quality documentation.

Support audits and client inspections when required.
