Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Plan, monitor, and optimize daily production operations to achieve output, quality, cost, and safety targets for fluting and testliner grades.

Analyze and control key process parameters (GSM, BF/RCT, moisture profile, formation, runnability) to ensure consistent product quality.

Support production planning by translating monthly and weekly plans into stable machine operating conditions.

Continuously improve machine efficiency, yield, and energy consumption through data analysis and process optimization.

Identify process deviations, investigate root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Coordinate closely with Maintenance to minimize breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve equipment reliability.

Collaborate with Quality Control to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.

Support trials, grade changes, raw material substitutions, and process improvements.

Assist in training operators on SOPs, best practices, and safe operating limits.

Monitor production KPIs (efficiency, downtime, waste, rejects) and prepare technical reports for management.

Prepare and present regular production reports, highlighting key performance indicators and recommending process enhancements.

Train and mentor production staff on best practices, safety protocols, and new technologies.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational procedures (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

Participate in audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Production Engineer in paper, packaging, or continuous-process manufacturing.

Strong understanding of paper machine operations, including stock preparation, wet end, press section, dryers, size press, and reel/slitter operations.

Ability to analyze and control technical paper parameters (GSM, RCT/BF, moisture, formation, strength, runnability).

Experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

Strong collaboration skills with production, maintenance, quality, and planning teams.

Solid understanding of KPIs, production reporting, and data-driven decision making.

Good knowledge of safety practices and industrial risk control.

Ability to work under pressure in a continuous production environment.

Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 AND ISO 45001 is preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.

Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Good communication skills with operators, supervisors, and management.

Willingness to work in shifts or extended hours when required.

Fluency in English and Arabic is highly desirable.
