Job Description: Production Manager Injectable Section (Alfacare, BDR Group)

Company Overview

Alfacare, a group company of BDR Pharmaceuticals, is establishing a new state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility in Algeria. To support this expansion, we are seeking an experienced Production Manager Injectable Section to lead and manage sterile manufacturing operations. The role requires strong technical expertise in injectable formulations and a proven ability to manage large-scale production, compliance, and team development. This is a Cytotoxic Plant requiring strict adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Operations Management

- Lead end-to-end injectable manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met as per business requirements.
- Monitor batch planning, execution, yield optimization, and on-time delivery of products.
- Ensure smooth coordination with Warehouse, QC, QA, and Engineering for uninterrupted production.

2. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

- Ensure compliance with cGMP, WHO, EU, USFDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements for sterile facilities.
- Implement best practices in aseptic processing, sterile operations, environmental monitoring, and contamination control.
- Ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and data integrity.

3. Process Optimization & Technology Transfer

- Oversee technology transfer of new injectable products from R&D to commercial manufacturing.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing, and cost optimization strategies.
- Drive process validation, scale-up, and troubleshooting of manufacturing challenges.

4. Audit & Inspection Readiness

- Prepare the site for regulatory inspections, internal audits, and customer audits.
- Support QA in CAPA implementation, deviation handling, and risk management.
- Ensure the production area maintains a state of compliance and audit readiness at all times.

5. Team Leadership & Training

- Lead, mentor, and build a strong production team for sterile manufacturing operations.
- Develop training modules for aseptic practices, gowning, and sterile behavior.
- Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and accountability across the production team.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong technical knowledge of injectable dosage forms (liquid, lyophilized, pre-filled syringes, vials).
Expertise in aseptic manufacturing operations, cleanroom practices, and sterile compliance.
Hands-on experience in production planning, yield improvement, and process optimization.
Familiarity with equipment like autoclaves, lyophilizers, filling lines, isolators, RABS, and sterilizers.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Ability to thrive in a greenfield/start-up facility environment.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.Pharm / M.Pharm / M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- 10+ years of experience in Injectable Production in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Must have handled aseptic operations, technology transfers, and regulatory inspections.
- Exposure to USFDA/EU/WHO-approved injectable facilities highly preferred.
