Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Factory Planning team, ensuring smooth coordination across all production sub-departments.
Develop and execute detailed production plans (day-wise, line-wise) based on inputs from Demand Planning.
Plan and schedule production activities across multiple work centers (injection moulding, printing, lacquering, decoration, assembly, metallizing, bulk manufacturing, filling) to ensure timely delivery.
Conduct daily meetings with production units to review plans, ensure material/manpower readiness, and address challenges.
Release work orders after verifying raw material/packaging material availability.
Collaborate with MRP and Purchase teams to ensure timely delivery of bought-out materials. Monitor FG production and dispatch plans to achieve On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) targets.
Identify production bottlenecks and coordinate with teams to resolve them.
Minimize and reconcile Work-in-Progress (WIP); manage excess/non-moving inventory with MRP & Demand Planning teams.
Ensure inventory control and cost reduction measures are effectively implemented. Participate in production review meetings and S&OP planning.
Evaluate long-range demand requirements, assess work centre capacities, and improve planning accuracy.
Monitor material consumption vs. standards and enforce process controls.
Drive continuous improvement in factory planning systems, processes, and efficiencies.
Set KPIs for the planning team, conduct half-yearly and annual appraisals, and ensure talent development.
Desired Candidate Profile
Graduate/PG degree in Engineering (mandatory).
8–12 years of experience in Factory Planning/Production Planning, preferably in vertically integrated operations.
Industry background: Perfumes, Personal Care, Color Cosmetics, FMCG (Non-Food), Pharma, or Automobile.
Experience managing planning across 500+ SKUs, including in-house and bought-out items.
Strong knowledge of raw and packing materials, production lines, and multi-stage manufacturing processes.
Proven expertise in handling high product changeovers, OTIF delivery, cost reduction, and inventory control projects.
Exposure to MRP/MPS systems, demand planning, and factory planning software/tools.
Certifications in demand planning, factory planning, MRP, or inventory management (preferred).
Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving mindset.
Hands-on leadership style with proven ability to build, motivate, and develop teams.
Self-driven, proactive, innovative, and committed to achieving excellence.
Excellent communication and coordination skills across cross-functional teams.
