Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Supervise production teams, including scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, and monitoring workflow to achieve production targets while maintaining safety protocols.
Implement and enforce quality control measures, including inspections, testing, and audits to ensure products meet ISO [relevant standards, e.g., 9001] and company specifications.
Identify process improvements, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, maintenance) to reduce downtime and waste.
Train and mentor staff on best practices for production techniques, quality standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, HACCP if applicable).
Analyze production data, generate reports on KPIs (e.g., yield rates, defect percentages), and recommend corrective actions using tools like Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, and conduct regular risk assessments in the production and quality areas.
Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods, coordinating with procurement to avoid shortages or overstock.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by leading quality circles or Kaizen events.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent; a certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) is highly preferred.
5+ years of hands-on experience in production supervision and quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of production processes, quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA), and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts effectively.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis tools; familiarity with CAD software is a plus
Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier audits or training.
