Roles & Responsibilities

Position Description:
The German University in Cairo is looking for highly able and motivated applicants wishing to join The Civil Engineering Program. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching and research in Traffic and Transportation Engineering, Intelligent Transportation, Operation of Transportation Systems, Highway and Railroad Engineering as well as other civil engineering modules.
Qualifications:
Candidates should hold a doctorate/PhD in a related area and demonstrate a track record and potential for conducting and supervising up-date teaching and leading research projects. Experience and demonstrated interest in electronic and interactive media is desired. Practical experience in the field will be an asset.
Job Requirements:
Fluent English Language skill, and German would be an additional asset.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications (e.g. PTV VISUM, PTV VISSIM, Office package, etc.).
Effective administrative skills, including the ability to organize and prioritize own workload in order to meet tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
Proactive initiative and ability to make decisions.
Creativity and work resilience within the scope of work & resourceful problem-solving.
Ability to work and interact efficiently with all levels of colleagues.
