Roles & Responsibilities

Education
  • School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
  • Bachelor s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database .
Experience
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Lebanese migration context, challenges faced by migrants, protection gaps and responses implemented by UN and NGOs, Community-based initiatives, and interventions.
Skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints, accurate and detail oriented.
  • Team player: ability to work effectively with different levels within and outside the organization and with colleagues from varied cultures and professional background.
Languages
  • English and Arabic are required for this position
IOM s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
