Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
You are responsible for overseeing the implementation of MdM Yemen s project activities across all areas of intervention, ensuring overall quality, coherence, and strategic alignment of programming.
You guarantee the integration of different program sectors in order to maximise holistic programming within the framework of MdM s mandate, strategy, policies, and humanitarian principles.
You support the general coordinator in defining and implementing the mission strategy in Yemen. You monitor the humanitarian, political and security context, and anticipates its impact on ongoing programs, donor strategies, and operational priorities.
You represent MdM in programmatic discussions with clusters, partners, and donors when delegated, and supports coordination with other MdM chapters where relevant.
You ensure continuity of program leadership during the absence of the general coordinator.
What you ll do
- Coordinate and oversee all MdM programs to ensure quality implementation aligned with MdM standards and donor requirements
- Contribute to the development, adaptation, and monitoring of the mission s program strategy
- Ensure coherence and integration across sectors, geographic areas, and strategic partnerships
- Monitor program implementation, identify operational challenges, and lead corrective actions
- Support the development of SOPs and adaptive operational modalities according to context changes
- Monitor program budget utilization in close coordination with support services and grants teams
- Lead recruitment, supervision, performance management, and capacity building of program staff
- Strengthen coordination between Sana a coordination office and field teams, fostering positive team dynamics
- Ensure robust monitoring, data collection, and analysis to inform programming, reporting, and advocacy
- Lead donor reporting, proposal development, evaluations, and overall MEAL framework implementation
- Ensure MdM s active participation and leadership in consortia, clusters, and coordination mechanisms
- Represent MdM with donors, UN agencies, partners, and technical forums, contributing to evidence based advocacy
Desired Candidate Profile
- Five-years higher education in project management or equivalent
- At least three years professional experience in project management in an iNGO
- Experience working in a volatile security environment
- Knowledge of the Yemeni context will be preferred
- Capacity to plan, manage and adapt a project, including in emergencies, good understanding of health projects
- Ability to draft action plans, create, choose and follow up appropriate indicators for the project and results in a given area
- Ability to discuss, present arguments, negotiate and convince authorities and partners
- Capacity to manage and follow a budget
- Ability to coordinate multi-location operations
- Knowledge of the main donors: ECHO, CDCS, GFFO
- Capacity to use financial and logistical tools and coordinate with the support team
- Capacity to supervise, assess and develop colleagues skills
