Roles & Responsibilities


Your Responsibilities

This role includes the following responsibilities.

  • Manage a complex and diverse portfolio of emergency programs.
  • Lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team of program and technical staff.
  • Lead and manage the successful implementation of Relief International's assigned portfolio of emergency programs.
  • Review the short- and long-range plans for delivery of project services and provide guidance to the RI staff and implementing partners.
  • Act as the budget holder for the projects, ensuring that all expenditure are in line with project(s) budget/forecast, and that transactions and documentation comply with RI policies, procedures and minimum standards.
  • Ensure program quality in coordination with relevant technical advisors and technical team in Gaza for the direct and indirect implementation of the project.
  • Lead the development of donor reports, and collaborates with relevant colleagues (technical advisors, MEAL, awards and partnership and all support functions) to ensure timely submission of high-quality reporting that complies with donor requirements.
  • Engage in program development and actively contributes to proposal development initiatives related to Gaza.
  • Pro-actively liaise and build rapport with local officials, community representatives, UN agencies, and any other relevant stakeholders.
About You

You will bring the following experience and skills.

  • Master's level education in a relevant field or bachelor s degree with commensurate work experience
  • Significant progressive experience in project management preferably in health projects and in emergency/conflict settings
  • Strong knowledge of regulations and experience implementing programs funded by ECHO, UN (UNFPA, UNOCHA, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational, budget, project management, communication and writing skills.
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to supervise and motivate staff.
  • Experience working with local and international partners.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues in a multi-cultural setting.
  • Experience conducting capacity building activities and enthusiasm to share knowledge and information with others.
  • Excellent English oral and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Arabic
  • Previous experience working in OPT/Gaza or conflict affected areas.
  • Previous experience in managing Health Programs
