Roles & Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer, Deputy Head of Mission and the overall supervision of the Head of Mission , the Project Assistant (Development and Project Support) provides administrative, operational and programmatic support to the programmatic units of the IOM mission in Morocco, in its three pillars: Migration, Development and Governance; Protection and Resilience; and Support for Marginalized Youth .

The position contributes to coordination and coherence between departments and supports project development, monitoring, reporting, data management, and communication activities. In close collaboration with the Program Officer, Deputy Head of Mission , Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Communication Officer, and Project Managers, the Project Assistant ensures an efficient flow of information, quality control of documents, accurate and timely data entry, and logistical support for meetings, events, and donor-related activities.

Through these functions, the position strengthens inter-agency links, improves project coherence and contributes to the effective implementation of IOM initiatives in migration, protection and support for young people.

The Project Assistant based at IOM Rabat will work under the overall supervision of the Head of Mission and the direct supervision of the Programme Officer, Deputy Head of Mission . The Project Assistant's work will consist of:

  • Support internal and external coordination activities aimed at strengthening coordination and coherence between programmatic units, in particular between the Protection and MDG departments, including activities related to ethical recruitment, migrant integration and regular migration pathways.

  • Assist in verifying basic quality controls of project-related documents, including project proposals, internal and donor reports, monitoring tools and communication materials, and report any inconsistencies to the supervisor.

  • Support the collection, compilation and preparation of documents for internal coordination as well as for submission to donors, partners and other stakeholders, in electronic or paper form, as needed.

  • Verify, update and support data entry on the PRIMA-for-All platform , contributing to project development, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting processes.

  • Supporting the preparation of briefing notes, official correspondence and communications, including letters and emails addressed to donors, thematic units, the mission and government authorities.

  • Assist in calendar management and provide logistical and organizational support for events and activities, including international days (e.g. International Migrants Day), donor visits, trainings, conferences and workshops.

  • Prepare reports, summaries and follow-up notes for meetings, visits, conferences and other programmatic activities, and support associated administrative tasks.

  • Perform any other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor to support the implementation of programs and mission priorities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or a related field, awarded by an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience.

  • High school diploma with seven years of relevant experience.

Experience

  • Qualified experience in development and migration, with a particular interest in labor migration, integration policies, strategies, program development and implementation.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet-related applications.
