Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Position Objective:
Ensure that project is completed within the defined scope, budget, and schedule, while adhering to quality standards and achieving the desired project objectives. The Project Control Expert will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling all aspects of project execution, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality. The role is critical in ensuring that the project is delivered successfully, meeting stakeholder expectations and achieving the desired project outcomes. To collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to monitor project performance, manage project financials, and provide insightful reports to support decision-making.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project control processes and procedures.
- Coordinate with the execution team to create project schedules, covering site acquisition, design, permitting, and construction phases.
- Monitor project progress and track key milestones, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
- Implement effective change management processes to manage project scope changes and variations.
- Conduct audits, site visits, and inspections to assess project status and identify potential risks or issues
- Establish progress measurement methods (e.g., earned value, physical progress, productivity KPIs) aligned with project requirements.
- Validate progress claims submitted by contractors or internal teams.
- Manage project budgets and expenditures, closely monitoring costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement cost control measures and strategies to optimize project expenses.
- Analyze project financial data and provide accurate cost forecasts and reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial procedures and regulations throughout the project.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Delivery, Design, Field Audit, and Client interface teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders such as Maintenance and Operations teams to ensure completion of requirements.
- Maintain effective communication channels with external and internal stakeholders.
- Address stakeholder concerns and inquiries, ensuring timely and satisfactory responses.
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders, providing project updates and progress reports.
- Identify and assess potential risks and challenges associated with the project.
- Regularly review project risks, monitor risk indicators, and implement appropriate risk response actions.
- Communicate risks and mitigation plans to project teams and stakeholders.
- Conduct lessons learned sessions at the end of projects to identify areas for improvement and best practices.
- Prepare and distribute regular project status reports, including project progress, milestones achieved, and any issues or risks encountered.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, change orders, and approvals.
- Ensure that project data is recorded and stored appropriately for future reference and auditing purposes.
- Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis as requested by management or stakeholders.
- Support internal and external audits related to project control processes and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project control, preferably within civil engineering projects.
- Proven working experience in managing civil engineering and technical installation projects from initiation to completion.
- Excellent communication skills, both client-facing and internal.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management software, and databases.
- PMP / PRINCE2 certification is considered an asset.
- Experience in the government sector or with traffic system installations is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
