Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor the comprehensive project budget, tracking actual expenditures against planned estimates to ensure financial control.

  • Perform regular cost variance analysis and forecasting to identify potential budget overruns before they occur.

  • Prepare detailed weekly and monthly project status reports for management, highlighting progress, risks, and financial health.

  • Coordinate with site engineers and the planning team to track project milestones and update the master schedule.

  • Manage the processing and verification of subcontractor progress claims and payment certificates.

  • Monitor project cash flow and coordinate with the accounts department for client invoicing and receivable tracking.

  • Review and assess the financial impact of contract variations, change orders, and site instructions.

  • Maintain an accurate project risk register and assist in developing cost-mitigation strategies.

  • Act as a liaison between the site team, procurement, and finance to ensure all project resources are accounted for.

  • Oversee document control processes to ensure all technical submittals and contracts are properly recorded and updated.

  • Ensure all project activities comply with company SOPs, UAE labor laws, and construction safety regulations.

  • Utilize advanced Excel functions or ERP software to automate data tracking and enhance reporting accuracy.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with strong knowledge in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in project controls.

  • 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in construction project controls, demonstrating practical application of financial principles.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), enabling efficient data management.

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost accounting principles, and financial reporting, ensuring accurate financial oversight.
