Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Education

  • Master s degree in Public Health, Health Policy & Management, Epidemiology, Medicine or a health-related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or,
  • University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Proven Experience in health programme management from conceptualisation, development, monitoring toimplementation;Experience in capacity-building and procurement activities;
  • Experience working with local community health actors;
  • Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities as well as with national and international institutions; and,
  • Experience in organizing consultations, workshops and seminars with high level stakeholders.

Skills

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relations with relevant Government counterparts, international organization, UN Agencies, local authorities and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Competences in using health information systems and advanced IT tools for data visualization and process digitalization;
  • Proven Track Record in outbreak preparedness and response and health security;
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and information management skills;
  • Good knowledge of human and financial resources management;
  • Sound and proven understanding of internal and international migration health and public health issues in the country and in the region;
  • Excellent conceptualization, analytical and writing skills;
  • Ability of supervising multidisciplinary teams;
  • Familiarity with financial and business administration;
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal relationship skills;
  • Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming;
  • In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with minimum supervision.

Language

IOM s official languages are English, French and Spanish.

For this position, fluency in (English and French) or (English and Arabic) is required.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
