Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead the development of a greenfield Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and oversee potential brownfield modifications to an existing LDPE facility. The role will cover the FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) stage through EPC and commissioning. The Project Director will be accountable for delivering both scopes - ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective execution while managing the complexities of a new gas processing plant alongside brownfield LDPE works. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities FEED & Concept Development • Direct FEED activities for the greenfield GPP and brownfield LDPE, ensuring comprehensive process design, utilities, and infrastructure planning. • Ensure FEED deliverables and project execution strategies are robust and aligned with project objectives. • Drive value engineering, constructability, and operability reviews across both scopes. • Prepare for smooth transition from FEED to EPC tendering and execution. Greenfield GPP Execution • Lead the full lifecycle of the gas processing plant: EPC tendering, contractor management, execution, commissioning, and handover. • Ensure GPP design and construction meet international safety, quality, and performance standards. • Oversee site development, utilities, infrastructure, and interface management. Brownfield LDPE Execution • Manage modifications, upgrades, and tie-ins to the existing LDPE facility. • Plan and supervise brownfield construction and shutdown activities. • Coordinate closely with operations teams to ensure safety and asset integrity. Stakeholder & Contract Management • Serve as the primary interface with clients, FEED/EPC contractors, licensors, vendors, and regulatory bodies. • Negotiate contracts, manage change orders, and resolve claims/disputes. • Provide clear reporting to executive management on scope, cost, schedule, and risk. Risk, Cost & Quality Management • Identify and mitigate risks specific to both greenfield and brownfield execution. • Implement project controls for budget, cost forecasting, and schedule adherence. • Oversee QA/QC systems and ensure compliance with HSE and regulatory standards. Leadership & Team Management • Build and lead a multidisciplinary team across gas processing, polymers, brownfield integration, and construction management. • Develop team capability, ensuring alignment between technical specialists, contractors, and stakeholders. • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and performance. ________________________________________ Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related discipline); Master’s preferred. • 20+ years of experience in oil, gas, or petrochemical projects, including both greenfield EPC and brownfield revamp/expansion projects. • Proven track record delivering gas processing plants and polymer/LDPE or petrochemical facilities across FEED and EPC phases. • Strong understanding of brownfield challenges, including tie-ins, debottlenecking, and turnaround/shutdown planning. • Experience managing licensors for specialized process units. • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects with both upstream and downstream scope. • Strong commercial acumen with contract negotiation and project control expertise. • Skilled in leading large, multicultural teams and managing international contractors. ________________________________________ Competencies • Ability to manage greenfield and brownfield projects in parallel. • Strategic mindset with strong decision-making under complex conditions. • Technical depth in both gas processing and polymer/LDPE technologies. • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. • Commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. ________________________________________ Location & Conditions • Location: Azerbaijan. • Type: Full-time, senior project leadership role. • Travel: Frequent travel to engineering offices, project site, and LDPE facility as required.
