Job Objectives:

The objective of the role is to support a portfolio of construction biased minor EPC and maintenance repair order projects. This includes leading a small group of multi-discipline construction engineers and subcontractors where applicable to complete the full lifecycle of the project following the Wood Al Majal Project Management Framework.

Accountable for:

  • Delivery of a portfolio of minor EPC and maintenance repair order projects
  • Management and coordination of local supply chain partners
  • Project execution and governance compliance
  • Maintaining cost awareness by all project personnel throughout all phases of project execution
  • Defining project execution strategies
  • Application of project change control practices and procedures
  • Monitoring and control of portfolio performance
  • Ownership of project reporting
  • Leadership and management of their project portfolio
  • Identifying and managing critical issues
  • Proactive risk management and reporting
  • Preparation of Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events

Responsible for:

  • Fully responsible for the management of a portfolio of projects based at a client s locations
  • Clients primary focal point for allocated projects from kick off to close out
  • Responsible for the full Project lifecycle from Business Analysis through to project close out.
  • Responsible for the safe delivery of projects to budget and schedule
  • Ensure good communication between subcontract partners and engineering disciplines where applicable
  • Maintain effective dialogue with other project engineers, senior project manager, Engineering coordinator.
  • Manage project changes effectively
  • Ensure an effective risk management process is adopted
  • Provide HSE leadership within sphere of influence
  • Responsible for estimation of project scopes for each stage of the project lifecycle
  • Effective coordination of all elements of the project, with a hands-on, can-do attitude where necessary
  • Good stakeholder management and client interfacing
  • Ensure Roles, Responsibilities and Accountabilities are fully understood by the project team, including sub-contractors
  • Development of relationships with internal and external customers and organisations

  • Delivery of projects aligned to the Wood Al Majal project management framework
  • Efficient project execution by project personnel located in different geographical locations
  • Delivery of projects against the Wood and applicable client core values
  • Ensuring continuous improvement to drive performance
  • To encourage and proactively drive full integration with the client team and site
  • Encourage and proactively participate with the client to continually improve the delivery partnership
  • Deliver value whilst ensuring quality & safety excellence during projects
  • To drive full accountability for project delivery within the Projects Team
  • To demonstrate value for money by implementing a flexible and scalable delivery model

  • Ensuring Wood Al Majal achieves project specific objectives, and delivers projects safely with a quality focus to schedule and within budget
  • Project execution and governance compliance
  • Managing and maintaining project execution performance to meet client expectations

Operating Rhythm:

  • Chair Weekly progress review meetings with the multi-discipline team
  • Attend weekly Projects management team meetings
  • Participate in monthly Projects review meeting
  • Overall responsibility for reporting of projects within portfolio

Desired Candidate Profile

Demonstrable experience in the management of multi-disciplined construction focused minor EPC and maintenance projects.

  • Practiced in project control mechanisms and with commercial and technical risk assessments
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Practitioner in risk management processes.
  • Strong effective delegation skills.
