Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Project Engineer Retail Projects is responsible for the end-to-end execution of retail construction and interior fit-out projects. This includes planning, coordination, site supervision, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery in line with quality, safety, and design standards. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to meet project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Coordination
Assist in preparing project timelines, schedules, and resource plans.
Coordinate with architects, designers, and consultants to review drawings and BOQs.
Liaise with procurement and logistics for timely delivery of materials.

2. Execution & Site Supervision
Oversee day-to-day site activities to ensure work is progressing according to plan.
Monitor quality control and ensure that construction adheres to design specifications.
Identify and resolve site issues and technical problems.

3. Stakeholder Communication
Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
Participate in site meetings and progress reviews with internal and external parties.


4. Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company safety standards and legal requirements.
Conduct site safety audits and coordinate corrective actions where needed.


5. Budget & Documentation
Assist in cost estimation and budgeting for assigned projects.
Track project expenditures and ensure they stay within allocated budgets.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports and maintain project documentation.

6. Handover & Post-Completion Support
Ensure successful project handover to operations teams or clients.
Address any post-completion defects or issues during the liability period.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail construction, fit-outs, or interior projects.
  • Strong understanding of retail space planning, MEP coordination, and finishing details.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and permit processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.


    Preferred Certifications:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) optional but an advantage.
  • HSE / OSHA Certification preferred for safety compliance.
