Profile Description:

The Project Engineer (Eng) -  SCM Coordinator is responsible for applying existing knowledge and experience in the Project Engineering discipline to support routine assignments. They will use best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve products or services in the Project Engineering discipline.

Job Overview:

The Project Engineer (Eng) -  SCM Coordinator applies their conceptual knowledge of Project Engineering and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Project Engineering problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Project Engineer (Eng) understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Job Responsibility:

· Manage the engineering scope of a McDermott project.

· Establish and implement project procedures to ensure deliverables meet quality and technical content requirements in accordance with contract documents.

· Manage the technical execution to support the business considerations established for the project.

· May be responsible for a Unit / Area or a specific function in support of the Project Engineering Manager.

· Practice and promote Safety in designs and work processes.

· Read and understand the requirements of Engineering in the contract documents.

· Provide direction to and coordinate with the Engineering and Design Leads on an assigned project.

o Reinforce and implement the Project Execution Plan.

o Work with the Project Engineering Manager to promote an understanding of project requirements.

· Ensure effective communication among engineering disciplines.

o Document discussions and decisions related to the design.

o Prepare and / or review meeting minutes.

o Prepare and / or review Technical Queries and design Deviations.

o Prepare and / or review responses to RFI’s and other correspondence.

o Prepare input to weekly and monthly reports for management.

· Assume responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control in areas of responsibility.

· Manage change effectively and proactively.

· Develop and maintain Project Engineering documents (examples)

o Assemble the Engineering Staffing Plan.

o Equipment List.

o Potential Change Notices.

o Weekly and Monthly reports for management.

o Action item lists (internal and external).

· Review work with clients, management, and project leads.

· Coordinate third-party interfaces.

· Identify problems and coordinate with the Engineering Team to correct.

· Assist with orderly handover and archiving of the completed project:

o Input to closeout report.

o Ensure Lessons Learned are documented.

Desired Candidate Profile

· Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering.

· Three-eight (3-8) years of experience in project execution.

· Experience in a Discipline Lead role (preferred).

· Preferably Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or member of a Professional Engineering Society as applicable.

· Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to:

o The reassignment to other departments, construction sites, and fabrication yards.

o The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays.

o The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads (also other projects) when possible / desirable.

o The managing / learning of future current working methods and software applications.

· Demonstrated broad technical knowledge of detailed design engineering codes and standards.

· Familiar with detailed engineering and design work procedures and processes.

· Able to read and understand contractual documentation.

· Able to effectively communicate with Lead Engineers and non-engineers.
