Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid packages, including cost summaries, schedules, and risk assessments, to present to clients or stakeholders effectively.
  • Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements, using specialized software and tools.
  • Analyze project scope changes and prepare change orders, assessing cost impacts and negotiating with subcontractors or vendors.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure alignment on project goals and budgets.
  • Research and analyze historical project data to improve estimating accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs to provide informed estimates and recommendations.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, critical path analysis, and resource allocation to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage and track project budgets throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular cost reports and variance analysis.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Holds relevant certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or similar, demonstrating expertise and commitment.
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating and planning, with a strong understanding of project lifecycles.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using estimating software like primavera , or similar tools, essential for accurate calculations.
  • Exhibits strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with project teams and clients.
  • Showcases meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, ensuring the reliability of cost estimates.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), essential for creating and managing project documents.
  • Nationality preference: Open to all nationalities; Language requirements: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
