Project Highway Engineer

The Project Highway Engineer performs a variety of road & highway design tasks in accordance with agreed budget and schedule with minimal supervision. The jobholder interacts with clients and stakeholders and provides transportation recommendations through the various stages of the projects.

• Develop highway designs from concept stage to IFC, including all required drawings and reports for discussion with clients
• Support the collection of internally available data to support project execution
• May be assigned to a project on a small to intermediate-size project
• Work closely with the other team members to optimize and develop fully integrated solutions
• Verify that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being met
• Liaise with other departments/units to ensure a proper design coordination
• Prepare reports documenting all findings, conclusions and recommendations resulting from the analysis
• Closely work with Project Managers and team leaders for the review and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals, as needed
• Provide support to senior team members in developing periodic progress reports
• Support senior team members with the management of client relations and expectations
• Support senior team members in client presentations and workshops
• Support senior team members with responding to client clarifications and technical issues
• Provide QA/QC of engineering calculations, detailed design drawings and technical specifications
• Assist with the preparation of Bills of Quantities and cost estimates
• Assist in the preparation of technical specifications
• Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Operators and junior -level engineers working on the same project
• Perform field inspections, if necessary, to evaluate and assess the condition of roadways, drainage facilities, and other transportation infrastructure

• Bachelor s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering is a plus
• 4+ years of industry experience in the highway-transportation engineering field
• Strong knowledge of the industry standard computer software for the position including AutoCAD, Civil 3D,
• Knowledge in Revit, Navisworks and Infraworks are a plus
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus
