Roles & Responsibilities

Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) is seeking an organization to support and manage a community of journalists under its "MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices 2026" program in Yemen.

The chosen organization will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Hire and oversee a part-time Project / Community Manager and a Finance / Admin manager responsible for all program related activities, including regular events, consultations, and meetings.
  • Coordinate safe funds transfers mechanisms to the fellows in Yemen.
  • Onboarding and offboarding for approximately 5 - 8 Journalists and/or Media Makers (JMMs).
  • Provide support to Fellows as per needs analysis and modular structure of the fellowship program , including but not limited to:
  • Creation and management of safety measures for approximately 5 - 8 Journalists and/or Media Makers.
  • Organize in-country or regional relocations.
  • Identify and coordinate psychological and legal support mechanisms for the protection of JMMs.
  • Facilitate training, workshops, and consultancies according to the assessed needs of the fellows with coordination of MENA project s management of MiCT.
  • Arrange support for fellows by providing necessary equipment or work materials to help sustain their work.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with MiCT's Project Manager and Project Officer.
  • Ensure regular submission of financial and activity reports to MiCT, in accordance with agreed timelines and formats.

  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in the media sector.
  • Established connections within the regional media landscape and community.
  • Strong community management skills.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by journalists in Yemen.
  • Network of service providers, particularly to provide psychological and legal support.
