Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Project Planning & Scheduling:
    Define scope, prepare execution plans, and develop detailed schedules for substation projects (GIS/AIS).
  • Design Coordination:
    Review and coordinate electrical, civil, and protection/control designs to ensure technical compliance.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management:
    Oversee procurement of major equipment (transformers, switchgear, control panels, etc.) and track vendor performance.
  • Construction Supervision:
    Manage site execution of civil and electrical works including equipment installation, cabling, and termination.
  • Testing & Commissioning:
    Plan and supervise testing and commissioning of substation systems (HV/LV, protection relays, SCADA integration).
  • Quality & Safety:
    Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental compliance throughout the project.
  • Budget & Cost Control:
    Monitor project costs and ensure execution within approved budgets.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
    Communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Risk Management:
    Identify project risks and implement timely mitigation measures.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    Maintain project documentation and provide regular progress reports to management and stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education: B.E. in Electrical & Electronics
  • Experience: 15+ years in managing HV/EHV substation projects (132kV–400kV), including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, and commissioning
  • Certifications: PMP® (PMI Certified), KSE Member
  • Key Skills:
    End-to-end substation project execution (AIS/GIS)
    Strong leadership and cross-functional team management
    Expertise in project planning, cost control, and risk management
    In-depth knowledge of IEC, IEEE, IS standards and HSE compliance
    Effective communication with clients, consultants, and contractors
