Job Title: Project Manager – Civil Construction (Building & Mall Projects)

Department: Projects / Construction Operations
Reporting To: Project Director / Operations Manager
Location: UAE (Project Site Based)

Position Overview

The Project Manager holds full responsibility for the execution, coordination, and successful delivery of large-scale civil and building projects — specifically shopping malls, commercial complexes, and high-rise structures.
The role demands exceptional leadership in managing time, cost, quality, and safety, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments.
This is a leadership position that blends technical mastery with on-ground pragmatism and people management finesse.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Lead the overall execution of the project from mobilization to handover, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
• Review and approve project schedules, manpower histograms, and resource plans prepared by the planning team.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, QA/QC, and MEP teams to ensure smooth progress across all disciplines.
• Ensure timely mobilization of labor, materials, and equipment in line with the approved program.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and initiate corrective actions for any delays.

2. Technical & Construction Management

• Oversee all civil, structural, and finishing works ensuring adherence to design specifications and standards.
• Manage complex mall-related activities such as façade installation, MEP coordination, fit-out interfaces, and vertical transportation systems.
• Ensure construction methodologies are optimized for speed, safety, and quality.
• Coordinate technical submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals with consultants and clients.

3. Contractual & Commercial Oversight

• Support the commercial team in managing subcontractor scope, payments, variations, and claims.
• Review and validate project budgets, cost reports, and cash flow forecasts.
• Participate in contractual meetings and ensure project activities comply with FIDIC and company contract standards.
• Assist in claims and EOT justifications where required.

4. Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Promote a “Zero Accident” culture and ensure compliance with UAE health and safety regulations.
• Enforce strict quality control measures through inspection and testing plans (ITPs) and site audits.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE departments to ensure all works meet company and client quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability guidelines relevant to large commercial buildings.

5. Stakeholder & Client Management

• Act as the key point of contact for the client, consultant, and all external stakeholders.
• Conduct regular coordination and progress meetings, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Maintain strong professional relationships to support timely approvals and issue resolution.
• Provide clear and consistent communication across project stakeholders to align expectations.

6. Leadership & Team Development

• Lead a multidisciplinary project team including construction managers, engineers, supervisors, and foremen.
• Ensure that the team operates with clear goals, accountability, and collaboration.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a performance-driven culture.
• Motivate and empower staff to achieve excellence in delivery, innovation, and productivity.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Construction Management preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 15–20 years in civil construction, with at least 7–10 years as a Project Manager handling large-scale building or mall projects (AED 300M+) in the GCC.
• Technical Skills:
  Proven track record in structural, architectural, and MEP coordination.
  Strong knowledge of commercial buildings, mall construction, and complex finishing packages.
  Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and advanced Excel.
  Understanding of FIDIC contracts and local authority approvals (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DCD, etc.).
