Protection Applications Principal Engineer

Maintain OECT protection applications, including Power Quality systems, Phasor Measurement Units, and Digital Fault Recorders (hardware and software).

Evaluate application performance, prepare reports, and monitor OETC network Power Quality parameters.

Description:

• Address internal and external audit findings related to protection system
• Updated knowledge on Power Quality to maintain, report and analysis the Power quality in the system.
• Update & maintain Protection applications related SOP, Strategy, Standard Specifications.
• Monitor network Power Quality parameters and generate reports as per procedures.
• Continuously monitor and maintain the health and connectivity of protection applications, promptly addressing any identified issues.
• Provide technical support to stakeholders. Share skills and experience with colleagues and support the development of others through coaching where possible
• Carrie out corrective actions to attend defects and minor replacements in protection applications systems and ensure the availability of related spare parts.
• Prepare, update, and upgrade plans for all Protection applications
• Contribute to incidents investigation and root cause finding.
• Maintain detailed database of all applications hardware and software.
• Identification and justification of new technology on related applications
• Comply and maintain cyber security procedures in all protection applications and remediate gaps
• Regular site visit and inspection to protection applications to monitor condition and perform and supervise maintenance and replacement work in related systems at site.
• Analyze the Systems Power Quality parameters and generate regular reports.
• Highlight deviations in the Power Quality on the network. Recommend and follow-up remedial actions.
• Contribution towards the preparation of Protection budget, price control and tender documents, and project execution.
• Sharing skills and experience with colleagues and supporting the development of others through coaching where possible.
• Contribute to engineering, design, and validation of protection scheme, solutions, and new applications & technology.
• Knowledge and Understanding of the Asset Management, HSE Management System and IT Security Standard Requirements according to ISO55001, ISO 14001, ISO45001 and ISO 27001 to carry out the assigned duties as per the roles and responsibilities matrix.
• Adhere to the Company s health, safety, environmental and security policies always and immediately report violations of these policies to OETC health, safety & environmental representatives
