Roles & Responsibilities

Education

High School Degree/Certificate from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant in the above field or
University degree in Behavioural, Political or Social Sciences, Human Rights, International Affairs, Migration Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database .

Experience

Experience in one or more of these key protection areas: counter trafficking, GBV, child protection or general protection;
Demonstrated experience in case management in one of the key protection areas and referrals;
Excellent interpersonal and listening skills;
Excellent writing and communication skills;
Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results; capacity to work effectively and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds;
Computer knowledge, including of the use of Microsoft Office;
Experience with international organizations or international NGOs is an advantage.

Skills

In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.

Languages

  • Fluency in English is required (oral and written). Knowledge of french and Arabic is desirable.
IOM s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
