Supervising the checking of the safety documents for all protection equipment

Carry out daily safety checks

Issuing Safety documents for related Protection activates with Zone

Where possible to rectify any safety issues discovered in the checking Reporting all occurrences to the relevant departments across OETC

Supervising and carrying out preventative measures to ensure a safe working environment

Working within the framework of LOA (Limitation of Access), SFT (Sanction for Test) and PTW (Permit to Work) safety documents

Supervising and ensuring that there is continuous availability of the system and that the system is working safely

Timely restoration of all outages

Preparation of the annual protection maintenance schedule

Carry out all maintenance in line with the annual maintenance schedule

The collection of data related to the function to be used for protection, devices and meter reference and store this information in the Central Log

Analysis the Protection and Metering data and the reporting system operation performance

Provide technical expertise to LDC, AMP and Strategic Planning and Project Departments.

Fault analysis after tripping occurrences and rectifying to re energize

Ensure protective relays function promptly at the time of fault conditions with proper coordination

Checking the relays setting calculations, equipment design calculations and the fault level calculations

Contribution towards the preparation of Protection and Metering budget, price control and tender documents

Attending regular inter departmental meetings for troubleshooting, shut down and commissioning

Ensuring 100% availability of spare devices, testing equipment s, relevant documents and testing reports

Supporting and implementation of new protection and metering policy and procedures

Coordination with the system studies unit in study of any expansion of the protection and metering system of the company

Supporting Technicians to carry out all maintenance in accordance with the annual maintenance schedule and procedures

Supporting the Technicians to operate safely

Testing and commissioning of all Protection devices, Meters and New Grid stations

Coordination for Engineering and Design of new projects

Providing advice for the selection of new equipment for new projects

Supervise the Subcontractors to ensure all safety rules

Ensuring all Protection policies, procedures and work-related tasks are carried out correctly

Sharing skills and experience with colleagues and supporting the development of others through coaching where possible

Implementing and following department protection SOPs.

Pass the required protection system authorization assessment, e.g Level 1 &2.

Knowledge and Understanding of the Asset Management, HSE Management, Information Security Management, Quality Management, and Business Continuity Management Systems requirements according to ISO 55001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 2700
