Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Protection
- Coordinate and communicate with other departments internally.
- Consult technical issues with Technical Adviser(s) in and seek appropriate support whenever necessary.
- Work closely with MEAL team.
- Coordinate with P&C to recruit field staff ( Casuals) when necessary and follow up any issues according to P&C policy and Procedure.
- In coordination with the Project Coordinator to work with S&C and Finance for procurement as necessary.
- Supervise Casuals in supporting cases, case planning, case conferences and closures.
- Attend and represent WVI at the inter-agency and coordination meetings (prottection working groups and others) as agreed with Project manager / Project Coordinator and Technical Advisor.
- Develop monthly and weekly activity and procurement plans and implement as well as monitor to achieve expected results as planned.
- Under the supervision of Project manager/ Project Coordinator , ensure that all planned activities are implemented on time, within the budget according to quality standards.
- Ensures timely update the progress and any issues of field activities to Project manager / Project Coordinator and Protection and education technical adviser.
- Support in preparation of all procurement and administrative documents required for program implementation.
- Provide different trainings to community mobilizer, casuals and project participants in education and protection sectors.
- Support the development and use of training materials (IEC materials, session plans, guidance tools) and ensure quality delivery and follow-up of training.
- Ensure a context-based mechanism to be in place to hear the voices of the community for WVI project interventions.
- Strengthen meaningful child/youth participation at the community level.
- Assist in identifying, reporting and responding to existing and potential child protection threats at the community level.
- Create an environment of open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
- Facilitate beneficiary training and coordinate with line directorates or private sector to conduct training to project beneficiaries.
- Support Project coordinator / Manager in managing budget
- Support in Mainstreaming and integrating GESI across all the project activities
Project Management (Quality Implementation, Financial & Risk Management)
- Assist in establishing and overseeing systems to efficiently control the quality of protection initiatives, ensuring activities meet donor and community expectations.
- Apply quality benchmarks to the project in coordination with the MEAL team to monitor and improve project performance.
- Maintain project budgets to ensure the efficient use of resources
- Coordinate with finance and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources necessary for project implementation.
- Manage day-to-day grant activities, ensuring that project activities comply with the grant agreement and expenditures align with grant guidelines.
- Ensure local partners fulfil their roles as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), maintaining accountability and performance standards.
- Identify potential risks in project implementation and work with relevant teams to develop mitigation strategies.
Coordination with local community groups/ Government Departments/ Other stake holders (Internal and External):
- When required, collaborate with the Operations Manager, Project Coordinator and Technical Advisor to represent World Vision at interagency coordination meetings. Actively participate in Protection Working Gorup, and coordination Meetings and attend relevant state-level meetings.
- Represent WVI projects on internal World Vision Communities of Practice (CoPs) and working groups and other relevant forums.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations and financial management of protection activities, ensuring all implemented activities align with approved project work plans. Liaise with the Project Coordinator, Project Manager and Technical Advisor to ensure smooth project execution.
- Community and Authority Engagement:
- Liaise with beneficiary communities, protection technical working groups, and local authorities to ensure project sites are selected according to project design requirements and community needs.
- Coordinate with school management and the Directorate of Education to ensure smooth implementation of school-based activities
- Assist in obtaining necessary approvals for protection activities from local authorities and relevant government departments.
- Foster strong relationships with community groups and government departments to facilitate effective project implementation and ensure alignment with local policies and regulations.
- Support collaboration with local partners and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of protection initiatives. Ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitoring, Reporting and Administration
- Draft monthly report including all required information of the updates of the activities and make sure of submitting on time.
- Ensure project documentation is up to date and project records, photos and contracts, correspondences are filed.
- Assist with monitoring the indicators and quality benchmarks to achieve the targets.
- Contribute to the preparation of internal and external reports.
- Support Project Manager/ Project Coordinator in compiling the reports through managing all the project data to be provided at any time necessary.
- Provide inputs and/or actions to address the issue of Accountability shared by MEAL team.
- Support project manager/ Project Coordinator to administer project budget to ensure accurate and timely budget spending.
Desired Candidate Profile
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
1. Bachelor s degree in social science (Social Work, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field).
2. Relevant master s degree would be an advantage.
Required Professional Experience
1. 1-3 years of experience in implementing humanitarian or development programs, including work with communities to support protection and education outcomes.
2. Demonstrated experience in emergency response
3. Strong understanding of child protection principles, safeguarding, and PSEAH
4. Proven experience in development and/or humanitarian programming at the field or programmatic level. Experience in integrated program/project cycle management
5. Experience living and working in a fragile context
6. Mentoring within cross cultural contexts: Experience mentoring, coaching, and building capacity of staff within cross-cultural contexts.
7. Experience managing and leading grant implementation is highly advantageous.
8. Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering trainings, awareness sessions, or capacity-building activities for staff, community members, or stakeholders.
Required Language(s)
1. Fluency in local languages: Kurdish and Arabic
2. Working knowledge of English; able to write reports in English.
Required travel and/or work environment accommodations
1. Up to 60 Per Cent domestic travel.
