To lead and direct the activities of Protection System Management Department through the implementation of Protection best practices to deliver optimal life cycle performance and ensuring full governance in order to achieve high system availability and reliability. Oversees the standard specifications, studies and designs, procedures development and implementations.

• Address internal and external audit findings related to protection system
• Lead the development of Protection System Function in terms of strategies, standard specifications, maintenance, SOPs, and working model.
• Contribute to Maintain and continues update of Protection and Metering Standard Specifications to meet the best practice
• Supervise the review and approval process for protection design and related calculations.
• Oversee the studies and simulation carried out on the Protection system to verify protection system performance and ensure corrective action implementation
• Oversee continuous review of existing protection system settings, configurations, and IEDs firmware and implementations
• Protection Investment planning and preparation of budget, price control and tender documents, and project execution.
• Undertakes prudent and efficient justification of projects including asset replacement/refurbishment, compliance and reliability projects (CAPEX) and maintenance (OPEX) for protection and metering assets.
• Management, development and optimization of Protection System applications and tools, i.e. Fault Recorder, Power Quality Monitoring, PMUs, Relay Management System,..etc.
• Contribute to identify the need for System Integrity Protection and plan for best practice implementation
• Oversee the monitoring of network Power Quality through Power quality system and report generation
• Contribute to incidents investigations and root cause analysis and recommend remedial actions and their implementation
• Develop and maintain the standardization of the protection systems
• To be available 24/7 to support on emergency conditions providing protection related support for timely restoration of all outages
• Supervise the utilization and enhancement of the protection lab and optimize its tools and components
• Provide technical support to stakeholders. Sharing skills and experience with colleagues and supporting the development of others through coaching where possible.
• Continually develop protection staff to ensure they have the necessary knowledge, experience, and training to meet system requirements.
• Ensure continuous update of Protection Model with latest and actual Relay settings.
• Ensure compliance with Cyber security policies and guidelines in Protection Systems
• Contribute to the preparation of business and work plans to achieve technical deliverables
• Ensure proper implementation of decision-making processes regarding future investments in protection systems.
• Encourage the development of asset management knowledge and skills, including ISO 55001 Standards throughout the organization
• Coordination the connected costumers, NEDC, NDS, and IPPs to ensure coordinated settings are in order and properly implemented
• Supports engagement process with customers and stakeholders
• Adhere to the Company s health, safety, environmental and security policies always and immediately report violations of these policies to OETC health, safety & environment representatives;
• Knowledge and Understanding of the Asset Management, HSE Management System and IT Security Standard Requirements according to ISO55001, ISO 14001, ISO45001 and ISO 27001 to carry out the assigned duties as per the roles and responsibilities matrix.
