Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
:
Guidance and treatment services
Providing individual psychological counseling sessions for students in accordance with the professional and ethical standards that govern psychological counseling work.
Dealing with emergencies and psychological crises and providing appropriate intervention or referral when needed.
Assessing the psychological needs of students and developing appropriate support plans for them.
Follow up on cases referred to external treatment providers and ensure the continuity of providing them with appropriate care.
Referrals and Formatting
Building an effective referral network with institutions specializing in mental health in the State of Qatar.
Directing students to appropriate services and monitoring their progress in coordination with relevant authorities.
Cooperation with colleges and faculty members in addressing phenomena related to academic failure with a psychological dimension.
Coordination with the Security and Safety Department in developing plans for dealing with emergency psychological cases.
Academic support and student adjustment
Supervising requests for leave or suspension of enrollment for reasons related to mental health and preparing an opinion on the eligibility of students to continue studying.
Supporting requests for academic accommodations for mental health-related cases in coordination with colleges and the registration department.
Designing special support programs to help students cope with the psychological stress resulting from academic demands or other pressures that arise in the university environment.
Awareness and prevention
Preparing and implementing awareness programs and workshops in the areas of mental health, well-being, and student adjustment.
Organizing educational campaigns and producing awareness materials in paper and electronic formats.
Contributing to building a university environment that supports mental health.
Corporate policies and quality
Preparing periodic reports and annual work plans related to psychological counseling services.
Contributing to the provision of data and reports required for accreditation and quality assurance purposes related to student services in the field of psychological counseling.
Proposing policies and regulations related to mental health and well-being.
Evaluating the effectiveness of mental health programs and initiatives in collaboration with the Corporate Effectiveness Management Department.
Contributing to the preparation of content related to mental health in university publications concerning student affairs.
Other tasks
- Performing any additional tasks assigned by the Deanship of Student Affairs within the scope of his specialization.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills :
Educational Qualification:
At least a master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, clinical social work, or a related field. Experience :
- At least two years of experience in counseling or psychological support, preferably in educational or university institutions.
- Priority will be given to candidates with valid professional licenses or accreditation from internationally recognized bodies in the field of mental health.
