Roles & Responsibilities

This is a 6-month assignment in Youssoufia or Safi, Morocco.
The assignment is part of the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Programme (VCP), which operates in 12 countries and 3 regions over an eight-year period (2020-2028). The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in developing countries in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, in claiming and exercising their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.
Here's what your day-to-day work will look like:
Working closely with the Oxfam Morocco team and the partner organization Kholoud, the advisor will be responsible for:
• Supporting and strengthening the partner's listening and support services for women victims of violence and people with disabilities (listening and communication techniques).
• Contributing to strengthening the partner's knowledge of effective approaches in social work, case management, identifying vulnerable cases and specific needs, psychosocial intervention, and record keeping.
• Supporting the partner in developing tools for case management and monitoring, intervention plans, and support.
For this role, you must:
• Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
• Hold an undergraduate degree in psychology, social work, or any other related discipline;
• Have at least two years of experience working with the target clientele;
• Experience in adult education and excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, etc.;
• Fluency in Arabic (listening and speaking) is required;
• Excellent written and spoken French and English;
• Commitment to Oxfam's mission and values, including the promotion of gender equality.
