Roles & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Purchase Coordinator – MEP is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and coordinating all materials, equipment, and services related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works. This role ensures timely purchasing, proper documentation, vendor coordination, and cost-effective procurement to support project requirements.


Duties & responsibilities :


  • Source, negotiate, and purchase MEP materials, tools, spare parts, and equipment as per project requirements.
  • Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
  • Evaluate technical specifications provided by engineers and ensure correct product selection.
  • Prepare purchase orders (POs) and follow up for timely delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers.
  • Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery timelines, and service.
  • Negotiate contract terms, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Resolve any issues related to delayed, damaged, or incorrect deliveries.
  • Coordinate with storekeepers and site teams to track inventory levels and material usage.
  • Ensure materials are delivered to the correct project site on time.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, backorders, and material movements.
  • Follow up on urgent or high-priority material requests.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documents including POs, quotations, invoices, and approvals.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and project standards.
  • Support audits by keeping documentation organized and up-to-date.
  • Work closely with MEP engineers, project managers, and site teams to understand material needs.
  • Assist in planning and forecasting material requirements for upcoming stages of the project.
  • Track and monitor procurement schedules to prevent delays.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience in MEP procurement, construction industry, or facility management required.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing materials and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP purchasing systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
