Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and delivery terms for construction materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to secure advantageous deals for the company.
- Process purchase orders and maintain accurate records of all procurement activities in compliance with company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to forecast purchasing needs and avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness of the purchasing process.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues related to quality or delivery.
- Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and new products relevant to the construction sector.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure timely procurement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies throughout the procurement process.
- Assist in the evaluation and continuous improvement of procurement processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 7 years of proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with a track record of securing favorable terms.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Solid understanding of supply chain processes, vendor management, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve conflicts with suppliers or internal teams.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and ethical procurement practices.
